2021 Reaching Home Call for Proposals - Indigenous Stream - Hamilton, ON
INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OPERATING IN THE GREATER HAMILTON AREA
INVITED TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR INDIGENOUS HOMELESSNESS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
Hamilton, ON (November 26, 2021) – The Reaching Home: Canada’s National Homelessness Strategy Indigenous Community Advisory Board (ICAB), as supported through the Indigenous Community Entity and Designated Community Entity for Hamilton, will issue a Call for Proposals to address Indigenous homelessness in the Greater Hamilton Area (Ontario) from December 1st, 2021, until December 31st, 2021.
This Call for Proposals has $1,444,859 available annually through Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy to support Indigenous homelessness programs and services in the Greater Hamilton Area from April 1st, 2022 through March 31st, 2024 (2 years).
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS include incorporated Indigenous organizations operating in the Greater Hamilton Area (Ontario). Proposals from mainstream organizations must be a collaborative submitted by an eligible incorporated Indigenous organization and include a governance structure for proposed activities.
ELIGIBLE PROPOSALS must align with the key areas, directives, and policies of Reaching Home. The key areas of Reaching Home include:
A. Housing Services to support Indigenous individuals and families in transitioning to stable housing.
B. Prevention and Shelter Diversion to support Indigenous individuals and families who are at imminent risk of homelessness.
C. Health and Medical Services to support a community-wide response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
D. Client Support Services to help improve integration and connectedness to support structures such as the provision of basic needs, economic, social and cultural programs and services.
E. Capital Investments to increase the capacity or improve the quality of facilities that address Indigenous homelessness.
F. Coordination of Resources and Data Collection to support a collaborative and community-wide response to Indigenous homelessness.

January 24th, 2022 Notification of funding decisions
